The Science Of Aging

Earlier this year on August 8, 2008 Shaklee announced it's new anti-aging product. In it's effort to be the for front of this type of product they enlisted the help of Dr. David Sinclair. He is at the for front of anti-aging studies and the human body. A doctor at Harvard he has been studying this process for quite a while. He is the founder of the anti-aging lab at the Harvard School of Medicine. Any article written in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine or the New York Times has either been written about Dr. Sinclair or by him. and was one of the first to discover the link between red wine and aging. You can see a lot more about that in his interview with Barbara Walters about how we can live to be 150 years old.

Dr. Sinclair was at the for front of discovering the link between anti-aging and re wine. The ingredient in red wine that makes that happen is called reseravtrol.What's funny is Dr. Sinclair himself doesn't drink red wine but that is what many people think of when they hear the name resveratrol. There are many advantages to the uses of resveratrol but there are other things to consider as Dr. Sinclair explains. It's very important that resveratrol be used in it's most potent form. The right dose. But it also is combined with what is best called "the super grape". That sounds corny, but it's not an ordinary grape. It contains an extra chromosome in it that teamed up with resveratrol is what makes the anti-aging process actually work. The miracle of all this teamed up together isn't just the immediate effects such as boosting energy levels and mental clarity it can make a huge difference in the fight against Diabetes, Cancer and Alzheimer's. I didn't write this until I had had the time to try the product myself. I found many things changed right away. But what was amazing was a college of mine started taking the product 8/8/08 and suffered from type 2 diabetes by the beginning of September he no longer needed to medicate himself for that! I could not believe that. I am sure every one's degree of being effected by the illness is different but that made me really stop and think what do we have our hands on here? I have now heard stories of curing age spots, serve arthritis and the results just keep pouring in. Those are just from people I personally know.

How does this effect our planet? How does this effect the "green cause"? Well first and for most it's all natural. It's healthier for us. Healthier live is soo important and it's produced by a company that is climate neutral. There are no factories putting out pollution to make this product. If one product can cure all these things think of the number of things we will prevent ourselves from having to intake.

That is just my take on it. The health of the earth is so important, but the health of ourselves and our children is just as important.

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

We have all heard this before. Reduce, reuse and recycle. We have all heard about recycling and how important it is. But it is important that we also REDUCE what we use. That is probably more important than the recycling.

There are many ways to reduce our usage of the earth's recourse's, but one of the most important things we can reduce is the bottled water. There are thousands of bottles of water floating around at any given time around here. That is a lot of bottles to recycle.

A lot of people don't feel great about using tap water even though it has been proven in most areas to be safe. If you are one of those people who do not want to use tap water there are some great alternatives out there.

The first thing you will need is a effective water pitcher that will clean your tap water or a water tap filter.

I use the Best Water Pitcher. It's important to know that I use the water from the pitcher for everything! Cooking, watering my plants with it really make them thrive. I also use it for my pets to keep them healthier. I know everyone says all water tastes the same and I always believed that. But everyone told me the water out of the Best Water Pitcher tasted different. I didn't believe it until I bought the pitcher. I noticed a difference and didn't say anything and then my 12 year old daughter came to me and told me that it tasted so much different. So I believe it now, there is a difference in your water.

The next step to get that convince that you can get with those water bottles is to buy reusable preferably BFA free water bottles. Then you just need to refill that same bottle and you get the same convince as those water bottles!

I saw this set on the Home Shopping Network website and it's a really good deal for the money. It's a 5 pack of bottles for $14.95 and it comes with a rack to put them on in your fridge.
• Nalgene Click Here This company has a pretty good variety of bottles at a pretty decent price. They range from $9-$12 per bottle and have a variety of different styles.
• Sigg Click Here This company is more on the high end. The bottles start around $20 but they do have a huge assortment of aluminum bottles. Over 100 designs actually to choose from.

So there are some choices for you to start to reduce no matter what you budget is. And in the start our economy is in this may be a little more money upfront, but will actually save you money in the long run instead of spending all that money on bottled water.

Another important thing to remember is whether you have a water pitcher or a faucet filter be sure you change your filter about every 60 days to ensure the best performance.

Getting Rid of Ants

I don't know about you but I am very spoiled using the Shaklee cleaners. I didn't realize how spoiled until last week when my house seemed to turn in to an ant village. Your body gets used to the fact that there should not be a smell with cleaners very fast. I unfortunately had to break out the horrible ant spray for my garage and I could not handle the smell. It was horrible. I could taste it in my mouth.
Of course immediately before I even sprayed it the 1st time I was horrified that I was about to spray this in my garage. My goodness my kids would be coming out here. So I did the inevitable and sprayed what I had to but immediately started looking for a safer alternative. I couldn't handle the spray so I can only imagine how it would effect my children.
I knew that Basic H2 regular mixed cleaning solution would kill the ants, but I needed to stop them from coming in the house.
The good news is I found a way!! Straight lemon. Go to the store and buy some lemons, get the juice out and put it in to a spray bottle. I actually just took the spray bottle that my cleaning solution was mixed in and dumped that in to my yard because I knew it would green up the yard a lot and it only takes 2 drops of Basic H2 to mix another bottle.
I put the lemon in it and no ants. So there is a tip of the day for you:)

Hey guys! HAPPY EARTH DAY!!

Just got an email saying that Shaklee's Get Clean line will be featured again today on Oprah's Green Favorite things show. How awesome is that!! Sandra Bullock will also be the endorsing them.
Do you really understand how powerful that is? Who better to have endorsing your business than Oprah? It was already on 4 time last year,then Rachel Ray last month.

That is just amazing. When I first started with Shaklee I would have never thought my business would grow so fast. Combine Oprah and the streamline concept that I am using placing people underneath each other so that when they are starting out they get that bonus check right away....and that continues to infinity.

Streamline Magic has given me the venue to really spread the word about going green to people who would have never even thought about it. This is just amazing!
